Have you seen the new bond Quantum of Solace trailer?
Despite the rather strange sounding title (and that’s saying something for a Bond film), I have high hopes for the Quantum of Solace given that it looks as though it will be picking and continuing the events from Casino Royale.
At the time when Quentin Tarantino first mentioned that he’s like to do a re-boot of the Bond franchise going back to the start of 007 by making Casino Royale, I thought that when he was turned down for it, we’d end up getting another ridiculous gadget-fest of a Bond film as they had become in recent years, particularly the latter Brosnan films.Continue reading »

For all you crazy Harry Potter fans out there who are still fuming from Warner Bros. sadistically putting back of the Half Blood Prince release date and anyone else too – here’s the new teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince!
I remember seeing the first Half Blood Prince trailer and getting all giddy like a little kid, and then the teaser that was released with The Dark Knight was just a voice over of Dumbledore which sent chills down my spine (and yes I’m a Harry Potter maniac).Continue reading »

I was recently asked about live football scores and what’s the best way of keeping track of them now that the new football season is well under way. There are various websites that will track the live football scores for you, but they vary widely in terms of usability and having slight delays in terms of updating.
The best way that I’ve found so far is to use the Live Score Centre on the Sky Sports website. It’s a service which has been developed over the past few years, each year introducing improvements and making it better to use.Continue reading »

Google have just released a new application for the iPhone, now you can have Google Earth on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
I’ve been using the Google Earth application ever since it was first released back in 2005; I try not to use it too often as I find I end up flying around looking at all the satellites views of various locations, zooming in and out all over the place for a good hour or two once I do start using it.
Now you can access all the great features of Google Earth on your iPhone including some specific ones just for the iPhone version:Continue reading »

The Football Manager Live launch dates have been put back a little from the original projected dates at the end of October!
This is because of issues that have been found during the latest round of beta testing, specifically the recent Stress Test – Sports Interactive invited a bunch of players to test out the game on one gameworld a few weeks back to simulate what a live gameworld (server) would be like put under heavy (more than expected) load of players in the game.
After missing out on the beta during the last year or so, I was very pleased to be invited to have a chance at participating in this Football Manager Live stress test. It basically involved starting out as a new manager and playing the game as you would normally, I somehow stumbled around the game and found my way around and liked what I found so far in this Football Manager Live preview of things to come.Continue reading »

Since it launched as a public Joost beta around May 2007 it’s been developed and various improvements made to the service along the way. Now what’s probably the most notable of changes that has been made is the fact that you no longer need to download and install a separate application in which to view the Joost TV programming content.
All you need to do now is visit the Joost website and register for an account – or login if you an account from using the Joost application like I did – for the first time in over a year I may add!Continue reading »

Lucasarts have announced that they are developing a new massively multiplayer online (MMO) game based on the ‘Old Republic’ called “Star Wars: The Old Republic”.
The Old Republic was referred a few times during the movies, so most general viewers probably have no idea what this will involve, however if you’ve played either of the two “Knights of the Old Republic” (KOTOR) games then you’ll probably know the kind of society, environment, types of characters to expect in this period of the Star Wars history which is set thousands of years before Obi Wan and the Skywalkers.Continue reading »

PS3 hard disk upgrades are easy to do, at least that was what was mentioned in the comments of our recent ‘new PS3 160GB’ post – with that in mind I thought I would go out and do a little research on this subject to see just what is involved.
I was pleasantly surprised to see just how simple Sony have made the process of replacing a corrupted hard disk and also that of upgrading your PS3 hard disk to a larger capacity – which in turn means you don’t have to go out and buy a new PS3 to replace your smaller hard disk model.Continue reading »

Have you got a haunted house? Have you got haunted portrait pictures? If you haven’t then you’ll definitely want to get some for your upcoming Halloween parties! Or maybe you’re a horror fan?
These haunted portrait pictures look like innocent black and white photos of your ancestors, perhaps a beloved great grandparent? However, they hide a nasty secret, they are in fact haunted, perhaps like something out of the upcoming Ghostbusters 3 movie?Continue reading »

Artificial intelligence learning capabilities were recently covered in a TV show I watched about technological advancements which posed the question what the future might hold for us.
I’ve always found this area of artificial intelligence quite interesting way back from when I was just a kid playing electronic games, watching the Wargames movie and programming robotic toys. Once I started playing with computers and inevitably games, which brought with them some basic artificial intelligence which depending on the game could either be very easy or very hard to beat – the classic, timeless games are typically the ones which had a good balance which in turn equalled, good gameplay!Continue reading »

I thought I’d give a little update as to how I’ve been using Twitter and what I currently think to it given my initial Twitter scepticism for the service when I first started blogging over 18 months ago – how times have changed, how those archives can come back to haunt you!
If you’ve been following Zath on Twitter for the past few weeks you’ll already know that I tend to go through days of several Twitter updates to some where I may only reply to other people’s Twitter – essentially using it as a chat or IM service. Either way, I’m finding that the Twitter community is a great one to be a part of and have found people answering questions that I’ve Twittered even though we may not have chatted before.Continue reading »

Have you used the Amazon Supersaver delivery option before when ordering from Amazon.co.uk? Ever since it was introduced into the UK a few years ago, I’ve always tried to take advantage of it to save having to pay extra on delivery costs.
In terms of delivery service, I’ve found that using the Amazon Supersaver option is rarely any worse than the standard delivery options of other online companies, clearly there isn’t the special priority being given to your order at Amazon to get it to you next day, but in most cases, I’m quite happy to wait for a few days to receive my items if the delivery is free.Continue reading »

The successor to Windows Vista has now long been codenamed as simply Windows 7, but it would now appear that Microsoft are going back to basics in another sense and simply calling their 7th version of Windows (in terms of software builds), “Windows 7” when it comes to market.
I wonder if this ties in with their new approach that they seem to be taking with their Windows products that includes their funny Microsoft TV Commercials and also they more mainstream ‘I’m a PC’ adverts.Continue reading »

It has been officially announced that there will be a fourth Bourne film. Universal have given the green light for the amazingly popular espionage action trilogy to go ahead and make a fresh story.
The story is going to be written from scratch by George Nolfi who was the writer behind Bourne Ultimatum. So this new story won’t have anything to do with Robert Ludlums stories of Bourne or the later novels written by Eric Van Lustbader.Continue reading »

I read a review for Overlord: Raising Hell (PS3) a few weeks ago because it was just there to read. But after reading what the game was about and what you could do, I really wanted to play it and so glad that I have.
Imagine a mix between Pikmin, The Lord of the Rings and Fable and you have Overlord!
The point of the game is to use your ‘minions’ to accomplish certain tasks such as opening gates, collecting treasure or killing great big fat Halflings. If you want to kill some innocent villagers and become an evil overlord, then so be it.Continue reading »
