Point of Twitter?
I’ve never looked into Twitter before, but have had a quick read up now and my interpretation of it seems to indicate it’s pretty pointless! It’s basically a service whereby you can continuously update people as to what you’re doing at any moment in time. Now to me, if I’m doing something, I’d rather get on and do it giving it my full attention, rather than always having a thought in my mind to be letting other people know I’m doing it.
I’m not someone who’s that bothered what other people are up to unless I have a reason to be, in which case I’d be aware by other means what I’d need to know.
I’m not a person who’s a nosy neighbour type, watching out the window just to see what other people are up to! Maybe it’s a concept that appeals to those kind of people? Maybe it’s just one of these things aimed at school kids to spend money on their mobiles?
Is it needed anyway? Quite often people put on their MSN what they are doing, what music they’re listening to (and can be run on mobiles these days too) again in most cases it really doesn’t bother me then neither!
Everton Blair suggests over at Connected Internet that we should promote a “No Twitter Day”, I certainly wouldn’t mind. Does my dis-interest make me anti-social or just not nosy? Either way I won’t be “twittering” on about Twitter any longer! What do you think?

It’s one of those services where I haven’t even been tempted to register to see if I’m missing the point!
I know exactly what you mean, I’ve also never ventured near myspace, however at least I can appreciate how it’s useful for people who want to put a quick webpage together and communicate with others. Whereas Twitter, I was really grasping at straws finding reasons behind it.
I really can’t see the reason why people like it. It really is useless and a little annoying too.
