10 Most Wanted Games…That Make Us Glad That Summer’s Over!
Written by Ender on August 12, 2009 · Filed under Games
The summer, traditionally a quiet time for games, so here at Zath, we’ve been looking forward to lots of upcoming games that are in store for us in the coming months, here’s a the list of the 10 games that I’m personally looking forward to playing the most of all in the next few months.
There aren’t any Wii exclusives on my list as there really isn’t anything for me to get really excited over at the minute. There are good games coming out like Red Steel 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wii, but they just don’t excite me as much as the list I’ve produced below.
So, here are the top 10 games I’m most excited about, in no particular order…
Modern Warfare 2 (Call of Duty 6) (Multi)

I’ve been a big fan of Call of Duty ever since the first one was released. It’s nice to have a bit of a change from World War II and I’m expecting big things after how good Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was. Not sure I’ll be getting the collectors edition with night vision goggles though. But it would be cool!!
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)

Naughty dog ventured away from Jak and Daxter for the PS3 and went for Nathan Drake instead. The first was probably one of the best adventure games I’ve played. Brilliant story line and great characters. Really looking forward to seeing what’s in store for Nathan Drake next. And from the trailer, you can see what I meant before about Uncharted making an amazing film (if done right).
Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box (DS/DSi)

The first of the series ‘Professor Layton and the Curios Village’ was a shock smash hit. I thankfully pre-ordered this and got it on release day and loved it from the second I started playing. Rest assured Pandora’s Box won’t be underestimated and I’m sure places will make sure they have plenty of stock as this will without a doubt, hit the number 1 spot. I’ve got my copy already pre-ordered.
Bioshock 2 (Multi)

I only bought the first one because it was cheap and I’d heard good things about it. Turned out to be one of my favourite first person shooters ever. Was disappointed with how easy and short the ending was in the first, but with multiplayer thrown into Bioshock 2 and more Big Daddys! What’s not to like?
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time (PS3)

Tools of Destruction was…sorry…..is still one of the best looking games on the PS3. I know some people say that they’ve done too much with Ratchet and Clank and the games are too similar to each other. Well from what I’ve read, A Crack in Time is throwing in some new additions to the franchise, and not just bigger guns.
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3/Xbox 360)

I’ve got them all!! (apart from FF XI). This is probably the biggest RPG series of all time and Final Fantasy’s maiden voyage on a next gen console looks like it’s not going to disappoint. It’s taken far too long for this game to be released and wouldn’t surprise me if the release date is pushed back again. But I just hope the phrase “Good things come to he who waits” was made for Final Fantasy XIII.
Mini Ninjas (Multi)

I love cartoon style games and this looks like it could be great fun. I’ve been watching videos on the website and around the net and it’s making me want to play the game even more.
Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier (PSP)

I’ve been waiting years for another Jak and Daxter game and was extremely disappointed to hear that this wasn’t going to be the PS3 game us fans have been so eagerly waiting for. Naughty Dog aren’t developing this one, instead it’s High Impact Games. I’m sure they’ll do a good job, but only time will tell.
Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360/PC)

I’ve only recently bought Mass Effect on my PC and I can’t believe how hooked I am already! The storyline is immensely deep and the visuals are stunning. The fact that your choices determine the outcome of the game is brilliant. Whatever choices you make in Mass Effect will carry on into Mass Effect 2! So keep your save files! Things could get very interesting!
LEGO Harry Potter – Years 1-4 (Multi)

Usually LEGO games are beyond crap. But since LEGO Star Wars, these have become hugely popular games. Thank you Travellers Tales. I’m already a Harry Potter nerd, and now it’s coming out in the form of LEGO! Expecto Patronum!!
There’s one game that isn’t on my list, but I want to make a special mention to. I don’t have an Xbox 360 yet, so I won’t be able to play Halo 3: ODST….yet. But if I had one, this would definitely be on my list.
So what’s your favourite top 10 anticipated games? Do you agree with my list or do you have something completely different?
Let us know in the comments below!

The Modern Warfare 2 trailer, first time I’ve seen it and all I can say is;
OH MY COD!
It does look really good doesn’t it? I’m sure they won’t disappoint when it is released, it’s just the waiting for it that is the current problem!
That’s probably my favourite of the list, well that and Bioshock 2!
When are we gonna get Diablo 3? I want to play it on my PSP. I would even be grateful if someone made a Diablo 2 for PSP…. that would rock!
Oh yes, Diablo 3 for my beloved PSP3 would be very very great!
